Jo Malone Inspired Bridal Shower with Black, White & Green Spring Decor

I love looking back at special events that have truly timeless decor themes, like this bridal shower I designed a few years ago at Ysabel in West Hollywood. My client, Amanda, was a big fan of Jo Malone products, so we took inspiration for her party decor from the brand’s sleek black and white packaging, then added spring flowers at every turn. Such a stylish look for any type of party!

The architecture at Ysabel was already the perfect match for our desired look. Their modern patio was filled with tufted white banquets, black chairs, and olive trees wrapped in twinkling lights. My team and I hung hundreds of single white roses from the tree branches, covered the tables with luxe white linens, and placed black, white and green anemone centerpieces down the middle of each dining table. The place settings were styled with black ribbon and anemone napkin treatments, as well as party favors in small, black Jo Malone boxes.

We used the restaurant’s wide marble stairs as a photo backdrop, and piled the steps with buckets of spring flowers. Roses, tulips, hydrangeas, lilacs, anemones and more overflowed from tall containers and created a lush background for group photos and selfies. Additional flower buckets were set out on a wooden table to create a chic “flower shop” for the party guests to arrange and take home. The activity of making their own floral arrangements and bouquets delighted the guests and was such a creative way to give additional gifts to the friends and family Amanda loved so much.

Two of my favorite little extras from the day were the rose-filled ice cubes in the champagne buckets, and the whimsical dessert display of donuts on cake stands surrounded by floral arrangements. Sometimes little details make all the difference!
