Love Modern Decor? Let this Chic NYC Rehearsal Dinner Inspire You!

Sometimes the architecture and environment of a venue gives you endless inspiration for your event design, and at this chic, contemporary New York City rehearsal dinner, it did just that. The wedding weekend for Christina and David was stunning from beginning to end, and before their spectacular Cipriani wedding, they wanted a fun rehearsal dinner to start their celebrations off with style.

Collaborating with an incredible team of creatives, the dinner’s design became a beautiful study in contrasts. The venue, ASPIRE at One World Observatory, offers an unparalleled view of New York City and has dramatic, angular architecture. To balance those the hard geometric lines, our designs focused on softening and lightening up the space.

Long mirrored dining tables were filled with abundant floral arrangements in soft pinks and peaches. The centerpieces had a natural and flowing shape, and each flower added organic texture and detail. Even our accent colors of black and gold were used delicately. The matte black flatware was slim and streamlined, which coordinated nicely with the organically shaped black, gold and blush menus displayed at each place setting. The glassware was a smokey, translucent black rimmed with a thin edge of gold. I love the way they add depth to the table and still allow the florals to be seen straight through them.

The calming but playful pink, peach and blush color palette carried through to the furniture as well. Pink velvet dining chairs, sofas and lounge chairs invited guests to get comfortable while they admired the views. We even used a pink area rug to define the lounge area and create warmth in the ultra-modern space.
